About
Someone should tell you when not to buy the cream
Beauty is one of the few categories where almost everything written about a product is produced by someone with a financial interest in you buying it. Brand copy, gifted-product reviews, sponsored video, affiliate content that has never met a product it disliked. The result is that a genuinely simple question — is this $380 jar worth it — is surprisingly hard to get a straight answer to.
MyBeautyVerdict exists to give that straight answer. Every review ends in one of three verdicts, stated at the top before the argument, so you can get what you came for in five seconds and read the reasoning only if you want it.
We buy what we review. We take no sponsorship and no gifted product. And we say when something cheaper does the same job — which, in this category, is often.
What you can hold us to
- —Every product is bought at retail with our own money.
- —No sponsorship, no gifted product, no paid placement — ever.
- —Where a claim rests on brand-funded research, the review says so.
- —When something cheaper does the same job, we name it.
How this site makes money
Affiliate commissions. When you buy through a link here, we may earn a percentage at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
That is a real conflict of interest and we would rather name it than bury it in a footer. The full explanation of how we keep it from influencing verdicts — and the specific things you can check to hold us to it — is on the methodology page.
